Hype Floats: Great Multimedia Blog for Rap Music

leave a comment »

If your a fan of the latest rap/hip-hop music, then check out this music blog. Hype floats does extensive research to find underground music that is set to play on the radio stations in upcoming months.

Hype Floats is a blog on Blogger.com and incorporates plenty of multimedia tools. The blog lists the posts chronologically.

Every post contains either a graphic or a music video for each new song. One of my favorite components of the blog are the music videos because they can’t be found on many other places on the net.

All of the posts have a share option, where you can share the music on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and Google. You also have the option to comment on each post.

Another cool feature of the music blog is the sidebar, where it lists the most popular posts of the week, as well as the top music of 2010.

The links on top offer playlists, mixtapes and videos to name a few. Although the site is mainly rap, you can also find techno and dubstep, where there is more chronological posts.

Another feature that is a multimedia tool is a Twitter feed that lists all of Hype Floats Tweets. This is very similar to our classmates blogs on WordPress, where we have the option to include a Twitter feed on our blogs.

The only thing I don’t like about the blog is the color. I feel like a solid white would be a better choice for the blog. Other than that, I am a huge fan of the blog.

Hype Floats is a great multimedia blog for rap/hip-hop lovers that includes all the essential converged journalism tools such as social networking, videos, graphics and a Twitter feed.
